IPT UL Recognized EIS are designed to provide maximum flexibility and usability for the equipment manufacturer. IPT systems typically offer a wide variety of electrical insulating materials, including those produced by other manufacturers. This means you will not be tied to one supplier; your equipment designs can utilize combinations of major and minor insulations from various suppliers for maximum cost control and efficiency.
IPT EIS that have been evaluated per UL 1446 are recognized as being in compliance with IEC 60085ed.4, Thermal Evaluation and Designation of Electrical Insulation (refer to Chapter 9).
The major benefit in using an IPT UL Recognized EIS is the ability to utilize the cost and performance advantages provided by IPT electrical insulating materials:
- High thermal conductivity allows lower temperature rise for longer life or reduced equipment size, thereby saving conductor and steel costs.
- High varnish absorption provides for a more solid unit which decreases noise and improves heat dissipation.
- Dimensional stability not affected by moisture; moisture absorption typically less than 1%.
- Inorganic-based papers exhibit long-term voltage endurance and dielectric stability.
- Significant cost savings relative to alternative high temperature materials.
- IPT electrical insulating materials have proven their performance with over thirty years of actual field experience in high temperature electrical equipment.
